This sloping, family garden was redesigned to create a private space that offered areas for dining, entertaining and playing for a young family. Three levels were created to achieve this so each area felt distinct but all were linked with soft, generous planting throughout. Bespoke fencing was built onsite to give the garden a more secluded feel but was kept open at the top to ensure that it was not overbearing. Three, fabulous Birch (Betula utilis var. jacmontii) shielded the garden from view along it's rear boundary and the beautiful white bark provided lovely winter interest against the brick wall behind.
There would always be something new to look at with this planting scheme as it's colours changed from green to white, to mauve and through orange and buff as the seasons come and go.
